Exracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy
What is it?
EMTT is a non-invasive treatment option for musculoskeletal pain conditions cleared by the FDA. It works to stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanism, increase blood flow, stimulate nerve regeneration and thereby decreasing pain and inflammation. This non-invasive treatment helps quicken patient recovery with no unnecessary risk or downtime.
How it works?
EMTT works by creating an electromagnetic field which sends high energy magnetic pulses into the targeted tissues to “supercharge” cells. The magnetic pulses have a deep penetration in order to reach the deeper tissues.
The treatment is high energy for short time. A handheld device delivers the magnetic pulses but does not touch the body. The patient remains fully dressed during the treatment. The entire treatment takes on average 8 minutes but can range between 5-15 minutes. A total of 8 sessions, twice a week, should be preformed for maximal effectiveness.
Conditions treated?
Acute and chronic sports injuries
- tendonosis, tendonopathy, overuse injuries
Wear and tear conditions
- arthritis, herniated disc
Radiculopathy (nerve root pain)
Chronic pain conditions
Benefits of EMTT
Decrease in pain and inflammation
Stimulates nerve repair
Increases blood flow
Minimal discomfort during treatments with no downtime during duration of treatments.
Limitations of EMTT
EMTT restrictions are similar to those of MRI.
EMTT cannot be used in patients with metal or electronic implants, pacemakers, pregnancy or within 6 feet of electronic devices.
